SCREENFERNO a daily dose of art from DyNTeR.net Screenferno* is "Requiem for a lost connection".
Screenferno is about "inflation of visual information of the digital age". Consequently, the fate and (un)certainty of the twenty-first century - what we lost every day, our presence... __________________________________________________

Whether we like it or not, we are living in an infomaniac world and this project is a document, a record of a time, a cut-out of our field of vision. A photograph of a smartphone screen, on which we try in vain to find and display information – but, unfortunately, we are disconnected (from the surrounding world, and the Internet).
What do we have and what is accompanying us in the digital age? Life drags in the tail of strangers’ memes. Horizons stretched to the very edge of reality in our social bubble. Clip culture, clip takes, just as curt as today’s bloggers’ time of tomorrow. We don ́t live it, don ́t consume it, we just take somebody else’s memory through the display. We adopt patterns and anything around us, we adore information on social media, be they commercials hidden or public. Building our castles. Showing ourselves, liking ourselves, building up ourselves. A world which in reality you will never find...
Not talking directly about inflation, we are living in it – we cannot fully absorb all the visual information around us nor do we deserve it. We are caught in diapers of the digital ballast of Internet literacy and become overwhelmed. We are caught totally wired.
The world around us revolves around a screen. Thanks to mobile devices, we are no longer tied to a computer, we are always on-line – the display is alfa and omega, the gate of our inquisition, loneliness, of losing the way and then getting back on track. We are completely addicted to the latest news, datas, the information flow.
What will happen, if our connection fails? Will we become stupid? Are we left all alone to ourselves? Is our world going to become more mundane, gray? True hell has started, we are denied on-line access. All of a sudden, we are alone, even amongst a crowd, at a tram stop, in a restaurant with friends. We cannot share, comment, spy. We are alone amongst the living, who may have the same problems. We need our dose of the latest information, we need to show off. We need to feed our addiction with ever newer pictures. While waiting and biting our lip, we have nothing.
Its hell, inferno of screen, Screenferno. Or maybe the disconnection will in turn calm us...
It makes no difference what is depicted on your monitor, it ́s just deconstructed and re-depicted into a colored plane. Screenferno is simply disconnecting oneself, a lack of data. An addiction to being connected. A depiction of monochromatic pictures, created through the use of technical limitations, or a slow data connection through your mobile phone. Screenferno is requiem for a lost connection. Screenferno is a RGB world…
